Good question, Dotun. I often can tell what's yours but I'm not sure this one is a dead give-away! What you do so well, however, is B&W, so I can see you here. It's like the wedding is juxtaposed against everyday life, which is actually refreshing.

It does have a similar feel as other photos in your archive - so yes, I'd say you have a signature look It's a very attractive way to capture the couple.

I do like this serial Dotun... Th oblique frame is fine there too.

From your wedding collection shots, I may say Yes out of all shutterchaners, this would be Dotun and the couple is always so hot lol.

I wouldn't have put your name to it immediately . . . it's a bit different from what you do .. maybe it's the couple in wedding attire in the middle of the city I am not sure ... Anyhow it's a cracking shot..

All I will ever be able to say is that the shot could be by Dotun. Jide has given what I think of as the complete list of Dotun trademarks. Other stuff like setting and presentation varies a lot and can't be considered trademarks.

Over the past year your pictures have changed - all for the better. Your wedding stuff is excellent. If I could afford to, I would have considered your services. (I have to inflate whatever you charge with travel and accommodation cost )

If you are considering something else, consider something that you can practise so long before going professional into that as well. I know there are guys shooting cars for magazines/brochures or even buildings for architects, food for books and advertising.

Good to see you're doing well, taking loadsa pics... Having had a heectic 4-5months, I had to temporarily pack up shooting. I'm back now and raring to go!

I do think that since it was a control shot and by this I mean posed, you should have taken this shot again without the man in the background. He does ( the man in the background) tend to balance the weight of the composition, so if he was replaced by a bride's maid with flowers or something...I don't know. Sometimes we see stuff like this and say "Damn!" but on that day with everything happening such things do sometimes go under the radar

As for the question you asked, I don't regularly visit your blog, but I've just taken the time to go through you... which I much say, "Excellent work", so I could add my own views.

I personally don't think I could say, yup that's an "Ayodeji" piece. It is a great pic but for instance, if I saw it on say "Alakija's blog", on a day when he decided not to put up his photoshopped stuff, I would relate it to one of his as well.

You have some excellent work, but it's not styled and hence at the moment if I saw it on another blog I couldn't 'cept for a signature say it was yours.

Your shots do have a certain style and feel, and this one fits right in. It's super.

This is just marvelous, Dotun. This is a perfect example of the "editorial" approach which to my mind is way preferable to the old fashioned and stilted wedding images. Nice, very nice.

Your style is very controlled, you definitely go for what you want. So you look into every aspect such as sharpness and spot on composition in particular.

Re: subject matter, I think you shoot people that are immediately part of everyday life i.e. Kids, couples, general social groups. You don't play too much with colour in fact you hardly work on colour (not a bad thing).

Put it this way when I see your work I can hear it too and the sound is very consistent with all your shots.
