photoblog image Party like a rockstar

Party like a rockstar

By now I am sure Sean Ayodeji needs no more introdcution to my blog :) last week I was in the studio preparing for a guitar photoshoot when Sean came around and so wanted to play with this guitar. He began to sing the song "party like a rockstar" by Shop boyz, so all I did was just move him right in front of my backdrop while he partied away. I should post a shot from the original shoot with model Kandi on wednesday.

you're really goin places dotun. Really!!
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Atunbi!
Dee this is wonderful and the lighting is almost perfect. God I'd love to get into a studio and yes I know as everyone keeps telling me, it's not all that great being in a studio but I'd like to try it anyway.

Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Johnny.
nice - brilliant pp! consider giving a tutorial on changing to monochrome?
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Ade glad you like it. I don't consider myself a guru in monochrome conversion, but here is what I did. I created a gradient map layer, choose the 3rd box when the gradient map dialogue box shows up. The gradient map layer renders your image rather dark. So I create a curves adjustment layer and just adjust the midtones until you like what you see.

beautifully sharp and a wonderful portrait
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Paul.
I like the tonal range, not to mention the funny capture! The only very minor imperfection I can see is that the background has noticeable rings, but I have never found a good way around that.
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Martin, the ring effect was added at PP, the rings don't appear in the original image. But now I know Martin is not a friend of rings I will keep that in mind for my next shot smile

I declare, Dotun. You just keep getting better and better. I don't know how this can possibly be improved upon (especially since I don't see the rings!).

Have you decided yet to go full-time with photography?????
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Ginnie, it is still part-time for now but maybe sometime in the near future it could be full time smile

Very cute image. I bet if you turned this into a poster and gave it to Sean, he'd be so proud of his little self!
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Kay, I will blow this up for him.
