photoblog image Face of the Washington Monument #2

Face of the Washington Monument #2

A slight drift from my typical postcard type shots of the monument. This was taken right before the cherry blossoms and of course there was so much going on around this place that I had to work really hard to get the angle in this shot. And someone walking into this shot was just what I wanted.  Not much done here just sharpening and a tiny crop.

Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Suby!
Very nice. I like that you included the person in the shot.
Dotun, this is a great image. I love how you've included the person in the shot to show how tall the Washington Monument really is.

Starkly beautiful image, Dotun.
The blues of the sky are a knockout!
You have illuminated the obelisk superbly.
Somehow the whole place look impossibly clean. I think the person is necessary to balance the shot. Very nicely done as always!
Oh, you've choosen a nice way to catch that, with a nice blue sky as a gift !

We usually see this from afar, Dotun, so this is actually quite educational up close. And as others have said, the person helps to give the monument scale. Beautiful spring day in Washington, D.C.!
A beautiful serene shot.
Beautiful shot. The person is placed at the perfect point and it gives a scale to the image
You couldn't have planned it better that the person walking would be wearing denim and matching the sky. Nice shot, for sure.
Clean and sharp picture
Great color of the sky
Asombroso obelisco. Los tonos azules del cielo son muy bonitos!!

Amazing "obelisco". The blue tones of the sky are very pretty!

that thing couldn't get any sharper. i usually have to keep a pocket full of gravel to throw at photo interlopers. Maybe i should hold back next time before i throw the first handfull. smile nice proportions dotun.
Wow: Great picture. The walking man comes at the right moment. Also it is nice that the trees are white, so it has a nice 'contrast' to the sky and the monument. The green grass makes the picture a little bit calm, wich is ok. Well done smile !

I agree. The blue sky and blue man are so nice. And lots of good detail on the monument.
Like the person in the pic - in a way it looks almost unreal - I'm not sure why, it might be the colours and the sharpness....
Impressive architecture, so high, and sharp !! smile
