photoblog image Colosseum

Colosseum

Hello folks, our vacation to Italy was very nice. I have some shots to share from this trip. This shot of the colosseum was taken 2.30am the night before we departed. This place is usually not this deserted, I literally had to ask some tourist to leave the scene to get a postcard-like shot. I was truly overwhelmed by the architecture we saw in Rome, even pictures don't come close to describing the grandeur of this city - it is a must see city.

Dee this is one of the best shots I've ever seen of the Colosseum, I really mean that. We get so many different shots of the place and your right it's always full of poeple or it's shot before anyone's out of bed. Are the rest of your shots from the trip this good? I'll let the other guys go into the tech stuff about the image for me it's what you see first that counts.
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Johnny.

Dotun Ayodeji: I will have to try, thanks Adebanji.

Your 30s at night makes all the difference in the world, Dotun, at making this a unique shot. Fantastic!

We were in Rome for a week a couple years ago and could not believe the history that city represents. It is mind-boggling!
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Ginnie, you are so nice.
Brilliant wide shot. Perfectly exposed, and loads of detail.

That is an incredible shot. It's a city I'd like to see one day.
That is a wonderful photo. I would never have the nerve to ask people to leave the scene, but it's nice that you did - the shot is amazing.

Great light. Glad you could get people to move. It never hurts to ask.
Outstanding shot! (I don't know how I would feel about hanging out at that place at 2:30 am, parts of the street felt a little dicie at 7:00 pm when we were there)

Maybe crop a little of the path out and show a little more sky (even if it is just black) by showing the same area (in the photo) of the path and the building it takes away some of the "massive" scale of this place.

Just my opinion.
Outstanding. Well done.
