The Spirit of the Season

DC gets very crazy at this time. I left work at 7pm on Monday trying to catch Cherry blossoms at sunset. I drove around for about 30mins looking for parking but found none. I really didn't want to miss sunset so I was like what the heck, so I packed along sides with tour buses. Long story shot, I got a $50 ticket..oouch!! As I hurried down to frame my shot (for the Monument and Jefferson Memorial ) I noticed this love birds and the shapes formed with their arms as they enjoyed the spirit of the season.

very nice image here, D. sorry about the ticket!
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Alex, I went home with some nice scenic shots, so it was worth it.
Expensive shot, but quite nice nonetheless. Is the white stuff in the background cherry blossoms?
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Martin. Yes, those are cherry blossoms, this shot does not do it justice. You have to see them when they are in sharp focus.
Beautiful shot. IMHO, would have been perfect without the trees in the background. I feel its a bit disturbing.

Actually, Dotun, I agree with Anup about the background trees. They have such a weird, strange look to them--not the beautiful look of blossoming spring trees. I wonder if that's because they're so far away?

BUT you have captured a WONderful "spring fever" pic of this couple. It is worth the $50 to me...and hopefully to you!
Great Shot Dotun. The trees are actually not adding anything to the shot, I just pulled down my scroll bar and saw the frame's top ending at the other bank of the river, looked good, but then the brief line of the sky in the colors of the setting sun can't be done away with. So all in all, a shot worth $50, and I'm sure you wud have taken some more which brings down the net cost wink
Another great shot Dotun !!!
I keep wanting to hurry up with my comment so you can be off to catch the sunset! Very nice Dee, do you have another without the couple as well ?

Aaaawww, romance is in the air grin

Ahh...sweet photo. Maybe you could sell the couple the photo and recoup the $$ for the ticket.
Dotun Ayodeji: The chance of meeting them again is almost nil, but I took some nice stock shots i will be selling soon, thanks Laurie.
Wow! What an amazing shot this is!
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Navin.

M for momentous (the arms). So this is what a $50 shot looks like smile Great pic and well spotted.
Dotun Ayodeji: Lol...nah Louis, this is not the $50 shot, I would say being able to capture the monument combiined with the cherry blosson trees will be the $50 shot smile I will put a couple up sometime, thanks Louis.
