I took this shot the same day Ihere - http://www.dotun.shutterchance.com/photoblog/67855.htm

I know there are many anti-color seperation folks on shutterchance, but it works for me so let me know your thoughts.

I like the pictures (both of them). Both are outstanding. No changes needed!

I am not for nor against color separation. I just can say that this shot is absolutely wonderful! I would probably try to do some experiment like this too, if only I knew how to do that grin
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Robs.
I guess I am one of the anti-color-separation gang, but the excellent composition carries the day for me. I don't think you need the selective coloring. The composition does a perfect job of focusing the attention on the flowers smile
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Martin, if you had seen the original shot, you may be convinced otherwise.

Colour separation works for me if it is a specific point/message you want to convey with a picture. In this case I am not so sure I grasp that point. I do like the composition and suspect the pic would have been great without the separation. Everything said - I still like this picture.
Dotun Ayodeji: Well, the point is after trying 4 different apertures, the green grass and green on the flower didnt look too distinct like I would have liked, so I had to go this route. Without the seperation it looks too flat in my opinion, thanks for the critic/comment as always.

You know that once in a blue moon I use the selective coloring myself, Dotun, so I can certainly see its merit here. I have a feeling, as some have said, that you didn't NEED it here, but then, you were the one that saw the original, so I'll go along with your intuition. How's that for being politically correct. smile
