Cigar-Art

Ok, I am back with my street candid shots. Due to time constraints, I have been unable to do too much of these latetly. Anyways, this was taken in DC as I was driving home from work last week. I loved both shots so much that I had to put them up. The guy in shot apparently appreciates his cigarette and then smokes it.

Well caught but why colour and black and white? The black and white is much stronger - the colours distract the eye from the man considering his smoke.

i think i disagree....i like the color one cause it gives me more of a sense of his surroundings, the setting of the shot. i really like the top one because i honestly can't decide if he's liking his cigarette or stunned in disappointment. smile

I agree with BOTH pixelpixie and alex tongue Surprisingly, I like the coloured one more, because I feel there's more in the surroundings this time, and the B&W subdues it a little.
I like them both. I am usually partial to black and white but in this case I think I like the color one better.

The juxtaposition is very fascinating, Dotun, because one way of looking at this symbolically is that when he's actually smoking, all the color (life?) is gone, thus the B&W. Okay, so I'm waxing philosophical!
The black & white one reminds me of a covert shot from a movie !!! In the colour one he seems aware of your presence but is more interested in the ciggy !!!
nice collage

Great portrait! So much character in these shots.
Very nice, prefer the BW.
I like your combination of color and black and white shots. I prefer the starkness of the B/W, but both are nice, and the combo adds interest.

Excellent character shot(s). The 2 pics complement each other in a most natural way.
Fantastic composition Dotun. The man is so expressive. Very nice shots !

I like the color photo better, but it might just be the photo itself, not whether it's color or bw. But the two together is a really nice combo!

Good pair of pictures. I like the colour one better because there's more life to it, but the b/w one hasn't got the distratcion of the red building in the background ...
great ones Dotun !!! Very good timing. Have a good week end
