hard work

we call these skillful guys "shoemakers" in Nigeria. They don't necessarily make shoes as the name implies but they fix up shoes, sandals etc. While in the car on my last trip I noticed the attention to details displayed by this shoemaker so I took this shot. Have a nice weekend.

Hello Dotun, interesting image of the manual work.
It has certain similarities with this:

Well shot. I am not sure I should feel this way, but I can't help but feel for the fact that this individual has to fix shoes in the street for a living. Nice detail and DOF.
Dotun Ayodeji: I understand your feelings 100%, thanks For visiting
Very good street shot. There is honor in this type of work, an honest job is always honorable. There is a shoe "hospital" a few blocks from me. It's been there as long as I can remember, and I'm pretty old. wink
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Laurie

This reminds me of the shoeshiners that we see in the States, Dotun, in airports and places where there's a lot of people traffic. By being out and visible, it sells itself (without the price of marketing brochures!). I can just hear someone say, "Oh yeah, I need to get this shoe fixed. Wonder if he's any good?!" And then walk over to check out his workmanship.

Smart guy. Great capture.
cool capture !! have a good week end

Very nicely done human interest photo D. We have a lot of these guys here also and they do seem to make a reasonable living, plus they always seem to have plenty of work!! Don't know if they use superglue to fix the shoes though tongue Have a super weekend, many regards, Neil.
Shuuuuuuuuuuumaker, hehehe. Sometimes, i miss Nigeria just 'cos of the shoemakers (LOL) Those guys (they're mostly guys) can perform wonders on any shoe and they charge so little. Whatever ur hands find to do, do it with all ur might. Another beautiful capture.
Tube o' super glue, and your in business! I love images that document peoples' daily lives, in this manner. Unobstrusive photography....
A great shot as usual !
Welcome in my Buddie's my friend !
