Waiting for business

this is a typical phone booth in Nigeria. But where is the phone? the lady has a cell phone in her possesion, you walk up to her and discuss the rest of the transaction. On this particular day I noticed this young lady who seemed to have no customers in the middle of a very busy market.  From behind the car window where I was shooting from, I could sense some frustration. I am not really sure if this phone booths will be in business too long becuase almost everyone back home has some sort of cell phone.

That's a phone booth? Quite interesting. So if you were going to make a call, what's the transaction cost you? smile

Oh my, Dotun. I never would have thought of that but I guess it makes sense...until everyone has their own phone. Great bit of history to go with this pic!

Goodness, I'd never have thought people would rent out their cell phone, but it makes sense. A really interesting picture, well focused on the important parts of what is quite a busy scene. smile

Interesting topic and comments about how it is done in other countries. Here in SA they have a cell phone with a timer in it. You can pay for time that starts ticking when you are connected. It is privately run with some sponsorship from the cell companies. Funny thing is that quite a lot of these people like to set the instrument up on an ironing board, that serves as a small portable table.

Great capture you have here.
in this pic especially I like the colors and the dof
