I am back again with my candid shots :) I took this one when I noticed this pedestrian crossing the street in DC and suddenly he stopped three quater way through to check his text or whatever he was doing. He was at this spot for at least 2mins and seemed to be very confident that oncoming cars will not hit him..great faith!
It's all about the phone.

I can relate to it, as in a similar situation in Santa Barbara i was driving a rental, saw the guy busy with his mobile like this guy, slowly start to pass behind (with enough room as in this photo) him. His reaction was to fly into a rage and he threw the phone to pieces against the back window of the car - no damage to the car.
I thought then that he was immersed in another world, got a fright and then reacted in rage. Very weird.
Dotun Ayodeji: lol..he threw his phone? Thats another form of road rage, thanks Louis!
I often wonder what we did before cell phones! Clearly this guy is in another world and not in his present spot. You have made an excellent capture of this new-age phenomenon, Dotun.
Hiya Dotun. looks like you caught George Michael misbehaving in public again. So we need a new category of modern photography, we can cal it "Cellphoneimageography" see how it rolls off the tongue!! Great capture bud and love the mono. Regards, Neil.
Dotun Ayodeji: "Cellphoneimageography", I like that...If I ever get a similar shot, I will give it that name...thanks Neil.
it's funny how people just stop whatever they're doing to test - i like the way this shot makes you feel that he's just ground to a halt halfway across, completely oblivious of the horns blaring around him!
Ah, I've done that kind of thing... when a car blared its horn, I showed them the finger and walked off lol but I wasn't texting. I was "reading a very important message" never done it again cuz I felt bad for blocking traffic... good capture, I couldn't help but laugh.
Dotun Ayodeji: lol...I unsderstand Mia, we as humans tend to get carried away.
Nicely balanced pic. I like the tones.
