Beware of Dogs

Just coming out of church 2 sundays ago and saw this Dog. I don't know the breed of this dog but he looks like one that takes his job seriously. I was to able to get a couple of shots like this and some with him/her barking fiercefully telling me not to come near his/her kingdom!

I am not usually a dog/cat picture person but i like the sharpness here Dotun. This dog looks like a a real fruit salad breed but then i am no expert.
Dotun Ayodeji: lol...thanks Nev.

Normally a fence would mess up a shot like this, but the strong contrast between the wire and the grass and the depth of focus make this photo look almost like a mosaic. I like it. It is unusual.
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Martin.
hey dotun,

this little guy is a beagle. they are usually hunting dogs. like martin said, normally a fence wouldn't work in this shot. however, something that ordinarily would hinder the shot, really serves to enhance the shot.
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Nicole, I couldn't agree any more with you that the fence was an enhancement for this shot.

Awwww...He looks like a beagle mix to me. Cute shot.
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Laurie, I'd thought it was a mix too.

Can't tell if he looks mad or friendly. He's got quite the look to him. But he looks safe!
Dotun Ayodeji: I will go for the mad look, because the next couple shots were all barking shots.
Very sharp and cute shot. Lucky you are this side of the fence. smile
Dotun Ayodeji: yeah very lucky! thanks for the comment.

Looks serious enough. A good photo but (you know me by now) i miss the dog's front paws.

I have 2 dogs and on sundays many couples stroll there dogs past the house. When another dog passes by, a furious barking episode occurs. One day the gate was open and they were again barking at other passers by - without attacking each other. That was when i realised this must be a way of communicating - something like "howzit bruce, how is fiona from number 43?"
Dotun Ayodeji: Louis, I thought I had the front paws too when I took the shot but found otherwise. After the dog started barking, I really had little time to recompose or check the LCD smile I also thought Louis will not notice the paws were gone but I thought wrong smile

Yep it's a Beagle, they're hunting dogs but can be freindly and they are very loyal and very protective. I hate dogs and they hate me but my best buddy had one and we became freinds. The fench worked here very well which is a surprise, very nicely done.
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks Johnny!

He/she doesn't look very fierce, unless the expression is that of knowing something you don't!

A really good shot, I know the fence would have confused my camera.
Dotun Ayodeji: thanks for taking time to appreciate this shot.
You take your camera to church?!! It is obvious that this is that well known breed of dog - the Short Haired, Long Eared, Don't Like Dotun, Terrier Hound!!

This is a great shot mate. The fence serves to enhance the fact that under the surface, the dog is really a prisoner of Man and needs to vent it's feelings now and again. Very well done. Regards, Neil.
Dotun Ayodeji: Thanks for the comment Neil! and yeah my 30D is my second companion everywhere I go, after my wife of course smile
ha he looks like he wants to tear you a new a$$.
Dotun Ayodeji: I am glad he spared it smile

Excellent shot ... the ears looks like of a beagle .. but its a mix, I think.
Dotun Ayodeji: Thank you for visiting, if I see this dog again I may ask its owner of its breed.
Very nice shot - Great details and perfect management of colors : Bravo !
